Who is the greatest rapper alive? It's a question that has and will continue to divide hip-hop fans across the globe.

For Benny the Butcher, however, the answer is simple: J. Cole.

"It gotta be that kid there, man. It’s a different aura with him, right?" Benny said of Cole in an interview with HipHopDX published on Friday when asked who he believes is the best rapper on the planet right now.

"He always been a contender but I feel like he’s coming into his own right and standing over it," Benny added. "I kinda feel like he’s claiming it right now. And he’s done enough where he could claim it.”

Benny went on to describe how he recently got to witness Cole honing his craft first-hand.

“I was at the 'Revenge of the Dreamers' writing camp not too long ago and he was in there every day going crazy," he recalled. "It was fire."

This isn't the first time Benny, who last month dropped his hotly anticipated fourth studio album "EVERYBODY CAN'T GO," has heaped praise on Cole.

During an appearance on the "Rap Radar Podcast" last year, the New York native called Cole the "top fucking guy in this shit right now" and praised the "Power Trip" rapper for helping push the "culture forward."

“A lot of things that he do that he don’t have to do," he said of Cole, adding: "He realizes his responsibility of him being the top guy."
