Childish Gambino is releasing a new album, sort of

That promise has now become a reality. At least, sort of.

On Friday, the superstar singer and actor took to his Instagram stories to share the tracklist for what appeared to be a new album titled "ATAVISTA."

Gambino also updated his Instagram profile picture with the album's cover art.

Upon closer inspection, however, "ATAVISTA" appears merely to be a properly titled and covered version of Gambino's 2020 album, "3.15.20."

"3.15.20" was, as the title suggests, released on March 15, 2020. The project dropped with a white square as its cover art, while all of its tracks minus two – "Algorhythm" and "Time" featuring Ariana Grande – were titled with a timestamp corresponding to where they start on the album.

While both "Algorhythm" and "Time" appear on "ATAVISTA," there there are a few minor differences from "3.15.20."

The track “32.22” from "3.15.20" is not included on "ATAVISTA," while "42.26" – better known as "Feels Like Summer" – has been replaced by "Human Sacrifice."

It's currently unclear when "ATAVISTA" will be released.

Last month, Gambino revealed in an interview with Complex who he believes is the greatest rapper of all time.

“To me? Kanye,” the "Sober" singer said.

“I know that’s controversial," he added. "But I feel like we would not have any of the rappers we have now without him. That’s just for me.”
