Eminem has officially announced that his 12th studio album, "The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)," will be released this summer.

The "Lose Yourself" rapper unveiled the project on Thursday by way of a teaser trailer played during his appearance at the 2024 NFL Draft in his hometown of Detroit.

In the trailer, a fictional presenter from the show "Detroit Murder Files" is explaining the unsolved murder of Slim Shady, Eminem's alter-ego.

"Through his complex and oft-criticized, tongue-twisting rhymes, the anti-hero known as Slim Shady has had no shortage of enemies," says the presenter.

50 Cent then makes a cameo in which he describes Slim as a "psychopath," before the presenter resumes: "Perhaps it's no surprise that the same rude lyrics and controversial antics may have ultimately led to his demise. Join me as we recreate the events that led to the murder of Slim Shady.”

After a message appears on screen announcing the album and its approximate release date, Eminem himself then appears and says: "I knew it was only a matter of time for Slim."

The video ends with Eminem laying on a flight of stairs with a knife in his chest.

It was first confirmed that Eminem would be releasing a new album this year by Dr. Dre back in March.

During an appearance on on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" alongside 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg, Dre, the producer of several of Eminem's biggest-ever hits including "My Name Is" and "The Real Slim Shady," said: “Eminem is working on his own album which is coming out this year."

Dre also confirmed that he is serving as a producer on the album.

"I’ve got songs on it and it’s fire," he said.

"The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)" will be Eminem's first studio album since 2020's "Music to Be Murdered By."
