Former Hot Boys rapper B.G. has released his first mixtape since being released from jail.
On Friday, he and Gucci Mane dropped their joint project "Choppers & Bricks."
The 13-track tape features guest appearances from Lil Jairmy and C-Murder, as well as production from DJ Paul, D.A. Got That Dope, and Mike WiLL Made-It, who produced the lead single "Cold."
In an interview with Rap Radar published on Thursday, B.G. opened up about what it's been like making music again.
The 43-year-old was released from jail in September after serving 12 years behind bars for firearm possession and conspiracy to obstruct justice.
“It feel good, man. It’s nothing short of a blessing,” he said. “To be gone as long as I was gone, to come back out here and people still be receptive to the music, to even still want to hear me. It let me know that the music I contributed passed the test of time."
"I just feel honored, man, and blessed," he added.
Gucci described working with B.G. as a dream come true.
“I’ve been a fan of B.G., you know what I’m saying? Even before I put out my first commercial album, like ’98, ’99. His first tapes, all his shit, I been on,” he said. “To me, it’s been like a wish in making, even before I even thought about it. I know that was an artist that I liked, and I really only gravitate to a certain few artists.”
