J. Cole has revealed that he is close to finishing his next album.

The "Love Yourz" rapper shared the news on Sunday during the opening night of his and Drake's It’s All a Blur – Big as the What? Tour at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.

“Right now, I’m at the tail-end of working on this album I’ve been working on for a long time,” Cole told the crowd.

“It’s called 'The Fall Off,'" he added.

Drake then chimed in to tell the audience that he'd already heard Cole's new project, dubbing it a "classic."

Cole, who on Sunday won the second Grammy Award of his career, first teased "The Fall Off" in an Instagram post in December 2020.

The North Carolina rapper shared a picture of a notebook which had "The Fall Off Era" written across the top. Below the header, he had written "The Off-Season," "It's A Boy," and "The Fall Off."

"The Off-Season," Cole's sixth studio album, was released in May 2021.

During an appearance on Kevin Durant's "The ETCs" podcast in May 2021, Cole said "It's A Boy" would be his next solo project.

However, his announcement on Sunday seems to confirm that this is no longer the case and he's instead skipping to "The Fall Off" for his seventh studio album.

No further details, including a potential release date, have yet been shared about the project.
