Joey Bada$$ celebrates birthday with release of new song, "Passports & Suitcases"

There ain't no rest for the wicked.

At least that's the case for Joey Bada$$, who on Friday celebrated his birthday weekend by releasing a new song, "Passports & Suitcases" featuring KayCyy.

Bada$$, who turned 29 on Saturday, also dropped the visuals for the track on the same day.

On "Passports & Suitcases," Bada$$ raps about he and a prospective lover dropping everything to go and see the world together.

“Uh, sometimes I trip just on how happy we could be / Fuck it, girl, let’s take a trip, drop all your shit and let’s leave," spits the New York native.

The cover art for "Passports & Suitcases" features the phrase "United States of Amerikkka," which is the title of Bada$$'s upcoming fourth studio album.

Little is known about the project, but in an interview with Brooklyn Magazine in July 2023, Bada$$ said he is ready to move in a "new direction" with his next offering.

"I want to take risks and be more experimental because I’ve proved everything that I’ve had to prove as a rapper," said the rapper, who made his name in the blog era making boom-bap tracks.

"Now it is time for an evolution," he added.
