Schoolboy Q has confirmed that he will be releasing his hotly anticipated sixth studio album next month.

The Top Dawg Entertainment rapper shared the news via his Instagram on Thursday.

"Blue Lips. MarcH 1st," he wrote alongside a teaser trailer for the album, which gave fans a sneak preview of the tracklist.

The trailer confirms "Blue Lips" will comprise of 17 songs.

Titles of the songs include “Smile,” “Cooties,” and “Germany ’86" – the latter being a nod to the 37-year-old's country and year of birth.

Q's musical peers were quick to share their delight at the news.

"Let’s. Fucking. Go," singer Tinashe commented on Q's Instagram post.

"Goldie" rapper A$AP Rocky commented: "LETS GO," while producer Mike WiLL Made-It wrote: "That got damn!"

Q, a five-time Grammy Award nominee, hasn't released an album since 2019's "Crash Talk."

That project debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and has since been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Q's most successful album to date is 2014's "Oxymoron," which topped the Billboard 200 and sold over 1 million copies.

During an appearance on the popular YouTube show "Back On Figg" in September, Q spoke on why he doesn't release music as frequently as some of his rap peers.

“When it comes to music, I don’t look at it as like, ‘Oh, you have to drop every year,’" he said. "I’m like, no, your favourite rapper has to drop every year because he needs chilli. I do what I want because I move off peace, I move off my experiences.”

"It’s not a sport," he added.
