Timbaland has achieved near enough all there is to achieve on Earth when it comes to music.
So now, the superstar producer is making his mark on the Moon.
On Monday, Billboard reported that Timbaland was one of a number of legendary artists whose music was sent to the Moon in an artistic time capsule last week on the Odysseus space craft.
The craft, which landed on the Moon on Thursday, was carrying as many as 25,000 digitized recordings from legendary artists like Elvis Presley, Marvin Gaye, Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Chuck Berry, Bob Marley, Timbo, and more.
Also carried up by the craft were other items of music memorabilia such as photos from Woodstock and iconic album covers.
Paintings by Rembrandt and Van Gogh were included in the lunar payload, too.
The capsule, which is made of breakthrough new analog archival preservation technology called Nanofiche, is currently sitting on the Moon’s surface.
“This is music that stands the test of time,” Dallas Santana, whose Space Blue company was responsible for creation of the capsule, told Billboard.
The next stop for Dallas, Space Blue, and maybe, Timbo, is Mars.
According to Billbord, Dallas is planning to put a similar capsule on the red planet when a landing eventually happens.
